Texas A&M University-McAllen

Nursing Education and Research Building

Civil, Geotechnical, Survey

Texas A&M University-McAllen’s Nursing Education Center is designed to expand access to high-quality nursing education facilities in the Rio Grande Valley.  A comprehensive subsurface geotechnical investigation reduced foundation and pavement risk while clarifying soil conditions for design, and a detailed topographic survey provided the accurate existing-conditions data needed to align planning, permitting, and construction. Gessner Engineering resolved site and infrastructure challenges through coordinated civil design that established efficient drainage, reliable utility service, safe access, and ADA/TAS-compliant circulation for the 60,000-SF building. Together, these solutions created a stable, resilient, and functional site that supports the university’s long-term academic mission.
